The 1945-P Jefferson Nickel is part of the "War Nickels" series, minted from 1942 to 1945. During World War II, there was a shortage of nickel due to its use in the production of war materials. To address this, the U.S. Mint changed the composition of the five-cent coin from the usual 75% copper and 25% nickel to a 56% copper, 35% silver, and 9% manganese alloy. These wartime nickels can be identified by the large mintmark (P, D, or S) above Monticello on the reverse of the coin.

An MS 66 grade assigned by NGC indicates that the coin is in Mint State (uncirculated) condition, with only a few minor imperfections, such as small contact marks or light hairlines. The coin should have an above-average eye appeal and strike.

6. Legacy uses "Popcorn" or "Extended" bidding. This means if a bid comes in at the last second, it is extended 3 minutes. This is like a live auctioneer saying, "going once" to ensure all bids are exhausted prior to closing.

7. We charge a 12% flat buyers premium on all items.

8. We charge KY State Tax.

9. You must bring help to pickup any items. We can recommend movers upon request. Also, please bring tools for items that require disassembly.
