Originally released as part of Western Electric’s popular Design Line series in the late 1970s through early 1980s, this model mimics the classic aesthetic of early 20th-century turn-of-the-century wall phones. Housed in a solid oak wood casing with antiqued brass hardware, the unit measures approximately 7.25 inches deep by 10.5 inches wide by 8 inches tall and can be styled on a desk or mounted on a wall.

The front face of the telephone features twin exposed brass ringer gongs above a heavy metal-rimmed rotary dial plate marked with standard alphanumeric characters (1 through 0/OPER). A raised center Bell System logo accents the rotary wheel. To the left sits a cast metal switch-hook holding a traditional hand receiver crafted with a turned wooden handle, black end cups, and a coiled black receiver cord.

Underneath the vintage exterior, the telephone houses genuine Bell System electronic components. The reverse metal chassis plate displays clear original factory labeling, including a Western Electric Bell Telephone property sticker bearing serial number 650844, as well as stamped model code 951A1-3. Additionally, an official sticker confirms compliance with Part 68 FCC regulations and indicates a ringer equivalence of 1.0A.

This piece is presented in very good vintage condition, exhibiting handsome, natural grain to the oak housing along with light, age-appropriate patina across the brass and metal components. Whether kept as a functional rotary conversation starter or as a piece of vintage Bell System Americana, this classic Western Electric telephone is a standout addition to any antique electronics or retro decor collection.
