Description
A classic American bolt-action rifle built during Ruger’s desirable Southport, Connecticut production era. This Sturm, Ruger & Co. M77 combines rugged reliability with timeless walnut-and-steel styling.
The barrel is clearly marked “Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. Southport, Conn. U.S.A.” (see close-up photos), confirming its early production lineage. The rifle features a blued barrel and receiver paired with a nicely grained walnut stock with checkered grip panels at the wrist. The stock retains strong color and clean lines with light handling wear consistent with normal use.
This example is equipped with a Tasco variable-power scope (marked “Tasco – Tested – Made in Taiwan”), mounted in sturdy rings. The bolt body shows honest cycling wear, and the classic Ruger bolt handle with round knob provides smooth, positive operation. The M77’s controlled-feed style action and robust design have long made it a favorite among hunters and shooters.
The rifle presents with a long barrel (see measurement photos), red recoil pad, and sling swivel studs installed. Overall condition reflects careful ownership with light cosmetic wear visible in detailed images.
The Ruger M77 remains one of the most respected American bolt-action platforms of the late 20th century — known for durability, accuracy, and clean styling.
A dependable sporting rifle with classic Ruger heritage — ready for the field or collection.
