Description

A stunning decorative egg featuring Scarlett O'Hara posed dramatically in an antebellum library interior, complete with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, rich burgundy draping curtains, a formal white doorway with classical columns, and a wood-paneled floor. The figure is rendered in a signature green sprigged gown with off-the-shoulder neckline, one arm raised coyly. The egg top is finished in cream and gold with ornate molding, and the lower half is painted in warm gold tones. It rests on an ornate brass filigree footed stand. This egg appears twice in the lot as a matched pair, both in comparable condition with one showing minor wear to the doorway molding.

A dramatic centerpiece egg depicting Scarlett in her iconic rose-pink dress standing in a windswept field at golden hour, arm raised to the sky in defiance against a backdrop of dark twisted trees, a split-rail fence, rolling golden fields, stormy purple sky, and silhouetted birds in flight. The exterior of the egg is sculpted with gnarled dark tree branches wrapping organically around the opening, creating a natural frame for the scene. The lower portion is finished in black and earth tones, and the piece sits on a matching ornate brass footed stand. A striking companion to the library pair, this egg captures the most iconic moment from the film with remarkable three-dimensional drama.

The reverse sides of the two library eggs reveal an additional scene featuring a dark-haired male figure, likely Rhett Butler, leaning over a railing in what appears to be a study or balcony setting surrounded by more bookshelves, paintings, and torchiere accents, rendered in gray and gold architectural detail.
