Description
This parlor table features a shaped marble top with rounded corners and gently bowed sides, commonly referred to as a “turtle top” form. The marble appears to be light-toned with subtle gray veining and rests within a molded wooden frame. The table presents a compact footprint suitable for use as a parlor, entry, or occasional table.
The base is constructed in the Renaissance Revival style, with a carved trestle form and substantial scrolled legs joined by a central stretcher. Decorative details include carved scrollwork, circular medallion-style motifs at the leg intersections, and a turned urn-form finial at the center. The apron and base show contrasting grain patterns consistent with the use of figured or burl veneer over a solid wood substrate.
Based on form, materials, and decorative elements, this table is consistent with American Renaissance Revival furniture produced in the late 19th century, circa 1870s–1890s. The table measures approximately 32 inches wide by 23 ½ inches deep and stands 29 inches tall. Overall condition appears consistent with age and use, with visible wear and surface variation appropriate to an antique piece.
