This brooding black beauty is a pre-WWII era Bakelite cradle telephone, likely dating from the 1930s to early 1940s, featuring a handset resting cradle, a central dial face with a label insert, and the unmistakable chunky silhouette that defined an era. The cord terminates in bare wire spade connectors, suggesting original or early wiring, and the Bakelite shell shows honest age-related patina throughout. The tan companion is a Western Electric Touch-Tone desk telephone made for the Bell System, as confirmed by the embossed marking on the underside reading BELL SYSTEM MADE BY Western Electric.
