Description

This four-piece collection features a range of cast-iron Santa Claus banks spanning from early 20th-century forms to mid-century and later reproductions, each offering a distinct interpretation of classic holiday imagery. Included are a pair of 5 ⅜-inch mechanical “Santa at the Chimney” banks, an 8 ½-inch Santa carrying a toy-filled pack, and a 5 ¾-inch Belsnickel-style Santa with a feather tree. Together, they present an appealing study in both vintage holiday design and the long tradition of cast-iron coin banks.

The two mechanical chimney banks (each approx. 4 ¼" x 3" x 5 ⅜") are patterned after the classic early 1900s J&E Stevens design, but their construction, screws, paint, and casting quality indicate mid-century to late 20th-century reproduction origins. The large Santa bank (approx. 8 ½" tall) features a molded two-piece body with modern machine screws and bright post-1950 paint, consistent with late 20th-century decorative cast-iron banks typically made for holiday décor rather than for true collecting. The Belsnickel-style Santa (approx. 5 ¾" tall), holding a feather tree and wearing a long red coat, reflects an older Germanic form, but the smooth casting and modern Phillips screw again place it in the mid-to-late 20th century reproduction category.

Though not original 19th-century or early Stevens-era banks, these pieces retain the charm, weight, and nostalgic appeal of traditional cast-iron Santa figures. As a group, they form a visually cohesive seasonal display with strong decorative presence—ideal for collectors of Christmas memorabilia, cast-iron reproductions, or vintage-style holiday décor

Terms and Conditions

1. All items are sold where is, as is.

2. Once payment is completed for item(s) won, the ability to schedule a pick-up time will become available. Scheduling a pick-up time is required.

3. There will be a $20 fee assessed per item not picked up at that time that will be collected prior to bidding again at our auctions. Unlike retail, we do not have the option to store your item. If the item is larger than a standard suitcase (22" x 14" x 10"), we will charge $50 to the card on file per item to move the item.

4. Please plan accordingly as items not picked up are considered "abandoned". Do not bid if you cant pick up this day.

5. You are responsible for ensuring you collect all items at pickup.

6. Legacy uses "Popcorn" or "Extended" bidding. This means if a bid comes in at the last second, it is extended 3 minutes. This is like a live auctioneer saying, "going once" to ensure all bids are exhausted prior to closing.

7. We charge a 12% flat buyers premium on all items.

8. We charge KY State Tax with the exception of vehicles which is collected at the DMV.

9. You must bring help to pickup any items. We can recommend movers upon request. Also, please bring tools for items that require disassembly.
